Bras D'or Lake

We are attending a concert in Port Hawksbury and then the next day we want to travel around/near Bras D'or Lake to our next destination which is Sydney. We would like to stop in Baddeck as well. We have the better part of the day to drive this part of Cape Breton Island. We would like to have a picnic, possibly do a short kayak or hike.

1. Is there a route you would recommend?

Thank you.

There are several ways you can go and all would be scenic.

A particularly scenic place is Iona and there you can visit the Highland Village Museum. Very close to Iona is the McCormack Provincial Park where you could have your picnic. https://goo.gl/maps/VJCpGJCihcK2

If you go via St. Peters you could visit the Eskasoni First Nation and partake in the Eskasoni Cultural Journeys.

There are a couple kayaking operators in the Baddeck area. Check in the link below for more information.
