Dear Blondie and Fundygirl,
Well, we're back, and what a vacation! Your country is absolutely gorgeous. We started in Yarmouth and drove the first night to Shelburne - stayed at the Cooper's Inn, what hospitality! We drove the Lighthouse Route and stopped at every town along the way. Blondie, Mahone Bay and Chester were magnificent. Lunenberg was just beautiful. Stayed at the 1880 Kaulbach House, and it was perfect. Even ate at Magnolia's and went whale watching. We were a little disappointed with Peggy's Cove - so crowded! Halifax was great. The Cambridge Suites Hotel was beautiful. We visited the Citadel and were lucky enough to hear a concert by the Highlanders. Yes, Fundygirl, we did have lobster at Halls Harbour - sooo delicious! We stopped to hear the story of the Acadians and then went to the look off to see the "bread basket." That was just incredible. Annapolis Royal was beautiful. We stopped at the Habitation to see how the Acadians lived. Stayed at Smith's Cove at the Harbourview Inn. What a wonderful place to spend a few days. The innkeepers were so friendly and helpful. This was my husband's favorite. He loved sitting on the sun porch and relaxing with a good book. There really is too much to say. We came home exhausted, but happy with the conclusion that Nova Scotia is a beautiful place to visit with the friendliest people! Thank you again. We used your notes again and again, and they never failed. Here's to Nova Scotia. We certainly hope to visit again soon!
