We are a senior couple touring the Maritimes by car. Knowing we will not be back, so wish to see as much as possible, have organized a pretty intense itinerary and could use advice keeping this to fit 13 days.

Aug 18-21 Halifax

Aug 21 Halifax to Jeddore Oyster Ponds (is this a worthwhile stop?); then on to Sherbrooke Village (is this a worthwhile stop?) Overnight in Sherbrooke.

Aug 22 Sherbrooke to Baddeck; Baddeck to Louisbourg. Overnight near Lousbourg.

Aug 23 Louisbourg to Ingonish, to Point Pleasant, to Cheticamp. Overnight in Cheticamp.(Scenic Driving trip, we are not hikers).

Aug. 24 Cheticamp to Pictou. Overnight in Pictou.

Aug 25 Pictou to Cavendish, PEI. Overnight near Cavendish.

Aug 26 to Charlottetown. Overnight in Charlottetown.

Aug. 27 To Mount Allison University in NB; to Hopewell Rocks, NB Overnight in Alma.

Aug 28 Alma to St. Martins; to St Johns to catch ferry to Digby. Overnight in Digby.

Aug 29 Digby to Port Royale; Visit. Port Royal to Lunenbourg. Overnight Lunenbourg.

Aug 30 ExploreLunenbourg; to Chester; to Peggy's Cove. Overnight Peggy's Cover or Halifax.

This is intense but I see no problem with it.

I like that you are taking the Eastern Shore road. I have not been to the Fisherman's Life Museum but it should be interesting. There are spectacular beaches all along this shore. My favorite is Martinique Beach. Check out the Eastern Shore link below. Sherbrooke is interesting with all its old buildings preserved to show life over a hundred years ago.

For the Cheticamp to Pictou day take the Ceilidh Trail along the west coast of Cape Breton. You are likely taking the ferry to PEI and it would save time to stay in Charlottetown the first night and somewhere around Cavendish the second. Check out the motel near New London Bay if you are stuck for a place near Cavendish. You may be able to drive to Charlottetown from the Cheticamp area and save a day for somewhere else. However Pictou is a good place to stop overnight. https://goo.gl/maps/36N964QKsVE2

If you do not go to St. Martins you could drive to NS instead of taking the ferry and visit Wolfville and Annapolis Royal. When you take waiting for the ferry you would find the timing about the same. https://goo.gl/maps/CALUXKzUWsL2

Your biggest problem may be finding places to stay where you want to go. If you cannot find places let us know and we can suggest nearby places to look.

Check www.novascotia.com, booking.com, airbnb and google for bed and breakfasts.
