East or West or both???

Is 11 or 12 days enough to go to both Avalon and Trinity area AND Gros Morne? If Not, which side of the province would you recommend? I like sea kayaking, short, challenging hikes and stunning scenery. Thanks.

Hi,

.I think you could do both sides of the island in 12 days. Just decide to have 1 day for a travel day and drive from east to west over one day. You can drive from Trinity area to Gros Morne in about 7 hrs.

Your interests could be enjoyed on either side of the province, however the scenery is different with the east coast being rugged and Gros Morne being more mountainous. Both have spectacular scenery...imo Gros Morne being the more spectacular.

How are you getting to Newfoundland. Have you thought about flying into/out of Deer Lake as well as St Johns? This has the advantage of saving a days drive. It is possible to get a one way car hire if you book early.

I second EESW's comment, the Deer Lake departure is a big time saver.
