Hi - we live on Grand Manan island and have camped in the Provincial campground here. It is a beautiful place and the beach is right at the campground. Of course, the water is cold so not very good for swimming.

Our ferry system is very busy in the summer. It leaves Blacks Harbour every 2 hours in the summer but sometimes you'll have a long wait. There are no eating facilites at the wharf so be sure to have something to eat with you. There are two boats running and one holds approx. 60 plus vehicles and the other is smaller - around 30 cars. Both boats have eating facilities on board.

There is another campground here - more wilderness type. It is OK for tents but not good for trailers, etc. The campgrounds are never full so no trouble to get a site.

Hope you have a good trip to our province.

Unless meat cove has changed in the past couple of years there isn't a whole lot there. The road turned into a dirt road that turned into someones driveway. A nice view from the point once you get there but overall didn't seem worth the time it took to get there. We stayed in Baddeck for 3 nights at the KOA and had an awesome time. The Yellow Cello in Baddeck is a grat spot to eat. Hope you have a great trip.
