Transportation

I have a group of 24 that needs to get from Winnepeg to Hawk Lake Lodge that is near Kenora. Is tere a private bus service that we can take?

Hi, you might want to try Beaver Bus lines; they operate from Selkirk which is right outside Winnipeg. No idea what their rates are but you could check with them.

FYI Winnipeg to Kenora will be approx a 3 hour trip.

Good luck!

If the cost of getting a Beaver bus is prohibitive, you could look at renting a couple of large vans (14 seaters) and drive yourselves.

Just out of curiosity, I looked up the Greyhound bus schedule and it does run to Kenora, but you would have to get yourselves from the depot there to the fishing lodge. It ranges from $62.50 to $100 per person return. The Winnipeg Greyhound depot is located at our airport.

We are coming to Winnipeg May28-30. How would I find out what type of public transportation we could use to get around in the city. Any inexpensive hotels close to Union Station?

We are coming to Winnipeg (by train) May 28-May 30. What kind of public transportation is available to get around in the city? Any inexpensive hotels close to Union Station? What do you consider the top things to do and see in the 2 days we have. Big on gardens!

Marlene Y - instead of hitching on to someone else's post, which is about something entirely different than yours, you should make your own post to the forum. You should advise what YOU consider to be inexpensive in terms of hotels.

There is the Legislative Building gardens 1 KM away from the station.

East Kildonan Park is one bus ride away. Here is the Winnipeg transit link:

You might want to go some of Winnipeg Greenhouse for a look at what can be grown in Winnipeg. They are specially bountiful in May. Or the Conservatory at Assinboine Park.
