Where to Stay & What to Do with 6 kids?

We are two families coming from Oklahoma (dad & 3 girls 7, 9, 11) meeting family from Washington (mom/dad & 3 boys 9, 11 & 14). We want suggestions where to stay, how long should we stay to get the most of our vacation , and what should we not miss out on. We want to make the most of the vacation together since we only see eachother every few years. Any suggestions would be helpful. I do know we want a pool and we will go late June or early July 2006. Also, some suggestions for great food is always helpful.

check www.alluradirect.com for privte condo rentals - in my opinion the best area for families is Village North, as you're close to all Village activities and amenities, but away from the late-night party noise of the central Village. Glaciers Reach and Northstar have outdoor pools. Allura Direct members are private owners so usually, rentals are cheaper than if you book through a management company. Prices are lower in June than in July and August.

There are tons of things to do in Whistler in the summer: hiking, gondola rides, canoeing, cycling, Ziptrek, rollerblading, golf, horseback, etc., etc., etc. On the way up to Whistler you can check out the Railway Museum in Squamish or the Mining Museum in Brittania Beach - both very interesting for kids. The Upper Village has an "Adventure Zone" with climbing wall, mini-golf, trampolines, etc. - also a Farmers Market on Sunday mornings.Go to whistlerblackcomb.com for more ideas, and enjoy your visit!
