So expensive to fly out from TX spring break. Is flying to Seattle a common practice for families wanting to save a little money?
I think you're right travelerfrom.... spend the money, save the time.
For your future reference, a useful tool we often use to figure out all available flights and rates is http://www.skyscanner.net
Well, a lot of people DO do that--fly to Seattle. It depends on whether you have more time or money.

Seattle is worth it
It's about 3 extra hours but 100s of dollars cheaper
I am particular about the value of my money. In saying this, when booking your flight try looking at the website bookingbuddy.com, once you see the cheapest flight, then go to that airlines website and see what prices they have. You will find that the airline site may give you the best price.
Hope that helps.
Flying into Bellingham rather than SeaTac is a great idea, even if it means a connection. It will save you a good two hours of driving time, and you will skip all that nasty Seattle traffic.
