Question about Whistler Weather

I`ve been reading about whistler weather and i`m quite concerned about it. The base is situated in a low altitude zone, about 600m, and the mountain is really close to the pacific, so makes the lower pistes being in the "raining belt" as some reviews call it. My question is: will be raining in whistler on the lower mountain during some storms even being winter? And if it really rains in winter, like i found out in some reviews, how could people skii in this kind of weather.

1. Re: Question about Whistler Weather

Jobovisk --

At Whistler, when it rains, folks ski at the higher elevations and ride down to the village from the mid station.

The problem with the rain is not while it's raining -- during the rain the snow is fabulous -- the problem is the day after the rain -- if it's cold, it tends to be icy -- but, again I say, stay at the higher elevations. Rain at the base is snow up higher --

Hope this helps --
