Is the weather still ok early November to drive from Vancouver to Vernon BC,
No way to tell. It could be just fine or it could be miserable. if you're flexible then that's the best. We've driven to SilverStar in December, January, Feb and March and been fine ( always snow but plowed and sanded) Nov isn't too early for snow at higher elevations but you simply can't tell until it's time for you to set out.
Yes. Lots of folks do this every day.
There may be some snow on the road (slim chance) so as long as you have some driving experience in a snowy environment you should be fine.
Thanks for your reply, do you think you would need snow chains anywhere along the way? we dont get snow at all where we live, we have to go to the mountains to see it..... Regards
Probably too early for chains...better to have good winter tires..which aren't usually available on rentals and most rentals don't let you use chains. Are you familiar with winter driving? May be no snow, may be skiff of snow..may be ice.. again can't really say. Where are you coming from?? assume you'll be renting??
January 24th, how are the road conditions right now driving from Vancouver BC to Vernon? lots of snow? Icy?
Drive BC is your best place for that information.
Sunny periods today in the Okanagan and Hwy 97 is clear. Temp got to about +1 with a warming trend expected.
If you plan to take the Coquihalla (Hwy 5) to the Okanagan, from October to April your vehicle must be equipped with either snow tires or chains.
