There are a couple of dining threads going right now, and I am following them and taking notes, but in both cases the OP isn't interested in sushi. Sushi is our primary interest, so I'm starting another one. My husband and I will be in town for three nights (Saturday - Monday) in September, staying at L'Hermitage, and getting around via public transportation. Price isn't a huge concern. We're willing to spend up to $350 for outstanding food and a better than average dining experience, and we really enjoy omakase and tasting menus.
