What's the best place to get a burger in close proximity to the Wedgewood on Hornby?

1. Re: Where to eat

At your hotel in the restaurant Bacchus, you can have an excellent hamburger for $17 or walk up to Hawksworth on Georgia Street (about 2 blocks) and have one for $18. Obviously these are haute cusine burgers.

You could walk about 3 blocks south and west and go to Vera's (Can't beat her meat) and have an excellent burger and excellent fries. (Burrard and Davie Street).

Unfortunately 5 Guys has not opened its outlet on Robson Street yet but when they do, they will give the other restaurants a run for their money.

I am curious. Unless you have the fussiest of children or teenagers who will only eat a burger, Vancouver has so much more interesting food that it would be a shame if you wasted a meal on a burger (excellent though it may be). In Vancouver oriental food rules and the flavours are sublime. Even a fussy stubborn teenager will find him/herself smiling at the dishes at an izakaya like Guu or even a street dog, like Japadog (1 1/2 blocks away). Go to Tacofino on Howe Street for a wonderful fish taco with a Mexican soda. Walk down Robson past the Empire Landmark and go to Gyoza King for fabulous gyoza and Ebi mayo (fried shrimp with mayonaise) or walk a bit further to the wonderfully tasty Korean restaurants on Denman south of Robson and try bibimbop or kimchi soup. You will soon say, "Hamburger? What's that?"

Have to agree with wgr. Vancouver has a world-class multicultural dining scene. And not just for fime dining. There are dozens of excellent restaurants within easy walking distance of the Wedgewood. Live on the edge!

Thanks. We have been eating seafood for about four days now and just wanted something simple.

So I ended up having a salmon burger at a pub on Robson and it was pretty good.

Just want you all to know that your replys are much appreciated.

It is so great that you all help with our questions.

Vandan ,I believe the Thurlow White Spot has closed. Location at Georgia and Cardero is a ten minute walk.

I would not walk from Robson and Hornby to Georgia and Cardero to get a White Spot burger that tastes good only to those who grew up in Vancouver. Otherwise. not so much.

There's a Cactus Club Cafe at Dunsmuir and Burrard that you might like to check into.
