hotel or serviced apts near Skytrain(for Surrey Cen City)

Hi i need to get a serviced apt or hotel for work near Surrey Centre City Mall for approx 3 wks.

Stayed at the Compass Point Hotel on King George Blvd last time but wish to upgrade to a better hotel this time, any suggestions?

Looked at VRBO not much choices in Surrey or maybe I dont know the area maybe New Westminster area along the Skytrain line also okay for commute to work?

thanks for any local guidance.

Hi petaling ~

I would look down the line a bit to Days Inn Surrey:

It's 500 metres from Gateway Station and 1 stop to Central City Station:

Not sure if price figures into your plans, but the Inn at the Quay in New Westminster might be a good option - just a few SkyTrain stops away from Surrey Central....no more than a 15-minute commute.

The hotel has a great location, gorgeous views, and a nice waterfront stroll right at your front door. The nearby Pier Park is awesome, and lots of great dining options within easy walking distance - Boathouse and Wild Rice are top-notch.

Thanks for the suggestions.

Will consider. esp the Inn at the Quay in New Westminster, sometimes but not 100% sure available for $81 on Priceline.com by bidding.but as always with pl

,you can never be sure and maybe given something not on the Skytrain route.

A friend from BC recommended the Metrotown area in Burnaby, esp the Holiday Inn Express at Metrotown,

what do you guys think

thanks

If you can get the Inn at the Quay go for it. Much more interesting than anything in Surrey or Metrotown. However, that said, Metrotown is more interesting than Surrey, it's just a bit longer Skytrain ride.

The Holiday Inn Express in Metrotown would be convenient, but probably a bit noisy and not a particularly nice location. However, you do have things like movie theatres and the mall for evening activities. The area around the Inn on the Quay is pretty quiet these days and there aren't a lot of options once you get outside the hotel.

Thank you MuftiMixandmatch and others for your replies.

I have obtained by bidding at PL (part of my stay) at a very good price below $80 for the Inn at the Quay and wish to stay elsewhere with a kitchen for some home cooking.

You mentioned these in an earlier post:

Any of these within 5 min of a Skytrain station?

Thanks

Destination Expert What's this?

for Vancouver

Some others to consider are:

Times Square Suites

Sunset Inn and Suites

Rosedale on Robson

Cascadia Hotel and Suites

The Landis Hotel and Suites

Delta Hotel and Suites

Rosellen Suites

Robson Suites

All in good areas, all reviewed here on TA. The first two are quite popular. You would need to check on in-room internet though.

Oh, I see what you were posting on that old thread for. :-)

The Hampton Inn and Suites and Rosedale on Robson are close to Stadium Station as you can see on the map linked above. The Delta is just two blocks up Seymour to the Dunsmuir entrance to Granville Station. Those are the ones close to a skytrain station.

The travel time between downtown Vancouver and New West Quay is 29 min, to Surrey Central 39 minutes. Obviously between NWQ and Surrey Central is 10 minutes.
