Which destination is best for a half or full day kayak trip?

Hello! We have two nights in Ucluelet at the end of this month, and I know that I want to spend some of our limited time kayaking. The question is, where is the best destination?

I've seen that the half-day trip to Meares Island with the big trees hike is nice.

The day trip to the Broken Islands I found offered by Majestic Ocean Kayaking also seems really good.

Which is the best place to paddle? Is it one of these options, or is it another I don't know about? Thanks for any input you have!

The Broken Group offers a representative experience of the west coast. On the windward side you'll find big ocean swells, with perhaps a glimpse of offshore whales, or closer seal lions or seals, and on the leeward side, endless small islands with secluded coves and foggy stands of big trees. Meares has extensive old growth forest, and the channels around it are somewhat calmer than the exposed coast. Vargas Island is also a nice trip from Tofino. One day is pretty tight though. Extending the time would be more comfortable, IMO.

Thanks for the input! I think because of our limited time we'll do Meares or Vargas and save the Broken Group for anither trip when we can spend a few days there.
