can I sleep in sleeping bag along KVR trail?

Hi again! I decided to do the KVR trail and was wondering how do-able it would be to just sleep in a sleeping bag along the trail, instead of staying in hotels/lodges/etc. I saw this group's video and they seemed to just sleep at the side of the road.

(just to add, there doesn't seem to be a forum for KVR trail so I just posted it here. I'll be doing the Midway to Penticton route)

What will you do with your food so as not to attract bears and other critters?

I hadn't thought about bears.... But we probably won't pack fresh food or do any cooking. We can also still eat at restaurants along the way.

I've cycled and hiked a number of different portions of the KVR-decent camping spots are few and far between.

Yes I supposed you could roll up in a sleeping bag under a tree but you'd have to suffer the slings & arrows of disapproving trail users and if it rained you'd be stuck-also eating in restaurants isn't nearly as easy as you imagine.

The whole area is "bear country". Last May, we spent two days on the KVR (Myra Canyon one day, and then off in the other direction from the same parking lot the second day) ... my husband usually goes on ahead since he is faster, and I prefer just to putz along... on day 2 about 3 km from the parking lot, he ran into the largest wolf he has ever seen, and I ran into a black bear and small cub, only about a km from the parking lot, when I went walking up one of the side roads, looking for a picnic spot with a view.

Bears and wolves don't care if you or your food is fresh....

Why worry about the big things when there are rattle snakes at sleeping level?
