I think its ok but quite a walk into town. Its at the Beginning of Banff ave so everything you will want to do is about 6-7 blocks into town. Its been a while since I stayed there. Close by is the Caribou Lodge however their sister propety the Ptarmagan is much closer to downtown. A nice hotel that is budget is the Bowview however they allow you to use to facilities of the Banff Park Lodge which has a great pool, jacuzzi and steam rm and is only one block from downtownl.

Hi Christine!

December is a wonderful time to visit Banff. Perhaps you could let us know if you would like to spend your time together in Banff in a cozy accommodation - or more outside of the hotel enjoying some romantic dining experiences and winter activities like snow shoeing through canyons or dogsledding?

You got a great deal on your accommodation package. Locals consider nearly everywhere in Banff walking distance, however the local 'Roam Public transport' bus service will pick up very close to your hotel and stops along the downtown strip for $2.
