Snow in the Rocky Mountains during late June?

Hi there,

I'm planning on visitng the Rocky Mountains for photographic purposes during late June (around the 20th).

Please could anyone tell me how much snow will be in the Rocky Mountains in Alberta during this period? All I really need is for the peaks/higher elevations to be nicely capped (preferably with solid snow) rather than the whole range being covered. If anyone has any thoughts (or any images/video illustrating how it might look) it would be incredibly helpful.

FYI I'm also considering either Montana or Colorado as an alternative - if anyone could please tell me how Alberta might compare to the more southern areas of the Rocky Mountains in regard to snow during this period I would really appreciate it!

Thanks...

I visited the Colorado Rocky Mountains National Park last year and the scenery there is quite different to the Canadian Rockies and nowhere near as beautiful.

I would assume that since we're north of the US, and the climate is generally cooler, we would have snow longer. One ski area here operates until late May, because they have enough snow to do so. They used to open on July 1 (a national holiday) too.

I took this picture near Lake Louise on June 29th or 30th last year. https://fbcdn-sphotos-c-a.akamaihd.net/hphot… The clouds are covering the peaks but you can still get an idea of the snow coverage.

You could also look at the webcams from the gondola at Banff:
