Glad you had a good time. Did you go to the Casino across the street? Did you happen to have Oscar as your Concierge or see Fernando in the sales office?

Hi Bob, No we weren't in Concierge, but we did have a great room overlooking the pool and ocean on the fourth floor. Our sales rep was Alfredo. We remember him from last time, but he said he was gone for a year or so and has now returned.

We went across the street and walked around. I went into the casino. It looked good. They have a door man and a lot of machines. He said more was in the back and a restaurant. Right next door is the 24 hour medical clinic with a Pharmacy. Also Diamonds International.

Food, how was it??

Music in lounge and also restaurants? Too loud or good?

Any other new changes??

Did you use resort credits??? If so what did you use them for and what was offered?

Glad to hear you had a good time, I think we are booking a week for early January.

Hi bezerk, I know you have wanted to know about the hotel. The Italian restaurant was good. My husband liked the Lasagna and I had the Veal Shank on spaghetti. My husband thought the piece of lasagna was small, but he just ordered a double piece. They were happy to accommodate. Yum. The music was low volume Italian. We really enjoyed Zen. Spring Rolls, Combination plate, soup, fried ice cream. All delicious. It was very busy that evening. The hotel had both a convention and a beauty pageant during the week. Romantic dinner delicious. Still the steak and lobster. Live piano music. Chef's dinner delicious, duo playing live music. That was on the loud side. The pool changed volume during the afternoon. Sometimes good, sometimes loud. Near the slide is quieter. Great breakfast at Market Place. We never tried the Mexican Restaurant Freda which is near the trellis area.

So all in all I feel much better sound wise than when you went the last time. We met the music manager of the hotel. Lovely young man working hard to please everyone. We gave him our opinion about the pool and restaurants. I reminded him to please keep the music low key in the morning. He agreed. Service excellent, temperature inside was comfortable. Never needed a sweater.

For resort credits can't say we used a lot. I got the included mani/pedi. Massage. Our extras were the Chef's dinner and the Romantic dinner.

Thanks Virginia4227, great synopsis. Sounds like music situation might be resolved. I am okay with music by pol loud and all, but in restaurants, low for conversation, also loud but not overbearing in lounge is good. Sounds much improved.

Now I just have to book it, I know my dates I want, just gotta figure out money..LOL.

We liked the romantic dinner food a lot, never did the Chef dinner so have to mark that down.

Thanks again..Happy Holidays..

Can you please tell me if there were many activities around the pool or beach area during the day? Also, did they have evening shows?

Yes, there is the pool by the swim up bar that is very lively. There are 4 great activity directors. There was water volleyball, trivia, bingo, exercising and music. Regular volleyball on the beach.

There is a change from last time I was there in the shows. Early in the week there were activities centered around the Sun bar like karaoke, billiards. There were two shows on Thursday and Friday. Rock Cirque de solei and Michael Jackson. We enjoyed both. Mexican night they said was going to be Sunday. We were not there for that, even though we were there for a week. Maybe they only have it every other week.

Also I see you are from Chicago. If you haven't booked your air, look at Apple Vacations and click "air only". We did that and got a direct flight at a better price than United. For $50 more per person we got priority seating. Included are a light meal, wider seats, 2 drinks. No extra charge for checking luggage. We will do that again.

Did you wind up flying Frontier then? We have already booked through Apple which 90% of the time works out cheaper for us as a package including non stop through United. For the first time in many years we are actually leaving on Easter which was a savings of $600 compared to leaving on Holy Thursday or Good Friday.

I thought I read in a review that the reviewer booked their excursions in advance using their resort credits. Do you know if that is possible and who do you email to do that?
