Nueva Vallarta Grand Luxe Residence Club

We just exchanged a time share through Interval to a master studio at the Grand Luxe. We were told that it contains a microwave, sink and small refridgerator but the confirmation does not list these items. Can anyone confirm?

Thanks

There are two Grand Luxxe accommodations available - the larger 2-BR GL Villas (corner units) and the 2-BR GL Suites located between the Villas. Both have lock-off studios. Do you know which one you have traded into?

The lock-off in the GL Villa is a studio of about 1.000 sf, will sleep 2 adults and 2 small children, and has a separate sitting room with a small kitchenette area.

The lock-off in the GL Suite is a studio of about 900 sf, will sleep 2 adults and 2 small children, and is basically a large hotel room with a huge bathroom area, but no kitchenette.

Here is a website that describes each of the units -

Hope that helps.

Thanks Curt. I appreciate the nformation you sent as I found it very helpful. The request is for LX2 as opposed to LXE. Are you familiar with these codes?

No, sorry. I'm assuming those must be II designations. Maybe if you give them a call or look on their website?

Grand Luxxe only designates them as GL Villas or GL Suites.

We have booked both a GL Villa and a GL Suite as there are 5 of us travelling. We also booked through Interval Int. Do you know if there is cutlery/crockery/glasses in the GL Villa? or should we bring paper and plastic. What about a toaster? Also, is there a safe is the GL Villa or Suite and what is the charge?

We are new owners of a Grand Luxxe Suite, so I can't comment on what is included in the Villa studio. I have heard that you can request dishes, glassware, etc, from Housekeeping. I know there is a safe in the Master BR side, but I don't recall if the studios have them or not. As owners, there is no charge for the safe as it is included in our contract. However, as an II trader, I can't say if there is a charge or not. Unfortunately, since the Grand Luxxe is such a new resort, there isn't much feedback out there from people who were able to trade in.

Thanks Curt for the info and for the email address. I need to contact them to pick us up at the airport - I assume they do that, just as the Grand Mayan has done for us in the past.

I believe they do offer the airport shuttle, although since we usually rent a car we haven't utilized that service. You might also want to ask about a shuttle back to the airport. While they've never offered it in the past, I did see on the GL website that it is now available.

In regards to the cutlery, etc. The 1 bedroom unit (with kitchen) has knives, plates, cups, and wine glasses. Although since there is no dishwasher, paper plates might save some vacation time at the sink! The studio rooms do not have of the above in them. But you can ask the concierge and they will provide some.

There is a safe in both the 1 bedroom, and the studio sides of the rooms.

The airport pickup is definitely worth it! Before with Grand Mayan, we were escorted outside into a hot van to wait. Now they have a special office in the terminal with couches. They offer you a cold bottle of water, and a cold wet towel to clean up with, while you wait for your van to come around!

They do not offer any type of free shuttle back to the airport when checking out, even though the website states that they do.

I have 3 children ages 9, 8, 6. II has 1 bedroom available in the GL in Riviera Maya that sleeps 4 and privacy 2. Do you think that I should contact the resort beforehand to see if they will allow another child? I have never been to Mexico and this new resort is very applealing to me. Please anyone who has been to Mexico advise me on this matter. I am tempted to book the 1 bedroom b/c I am afraid that a 2 bedroom will never become available for the month of August 2012. Furthermore this GL in Riviera Maya is very new. In addition, JetBlue does travel to Cancun and airfares are reasonable. Verses PV I do not know which airline who will offer decent fares.

While you may want to post your question on the Riviera Maya forum to get exact answers, I would also definitely contact Grand Luxxe first. Unfortunately, the GL has more "stylized" furniture pieces that aren't as suited to sleeping extra people.
