First Time at the Grand Mayan Night 1

After United delayed us in San Francisco for 4 hours we finally arrived late to the Puerto Vallarta airport. Customs was a breeze, strolled through the shark tank and found our driver at the entrance. Everything was easy including the check in. No ocean view but we really don’t care. Late night dinner at the cantina was fantastic. The service was very good even though we finished dinner at closing. I would definitely recommend the blue corn duck enchiladas with three styles of mole. Looking forward to day 1 in the morning. Ask away if anyone has questions.

PS the parts of the resort that I’ve seen so far is beautiful.

Day one was fantastic. Pool, ocean, kids crafts, lazy river, happy hour :) and the food and service at the restaurants and room service has been great. So far nothing but a five star Mexican experience.

Day two we were called two times trying to “explain the benefits” of our stay. I just said no thanks I don’t need anymore benefits. Breakfast buffet was ok nothing special. Lunch by the pool was good and the Mexican fiesta was great. Kids and wife enjoyed it. We went to the hotel market and shopped for snacks, beer, kids got frozen yogurt and thankfully my sixteen year old didn’t find anything to wear in the boutique. Really impressed with the quality of the resort. Tomorrow we will try to make into Puerto Vallarta...see how this goes.

Hi Jim - glad you're enjoying your time! We're going in July and it will be our first time at GM.

A couple questions for you:

- did you get the meal plan? If so, what's the current cost?

- I have a 2 year old. Is there a meal plan for little kids?

Thanks in advance for any insight you can provide! :)

It’s even good. I would say 7.5 out of 10

We didn’t but it looks like a good deal. We are at the resort most meals plus room service. It’s the same prices I would pay for most meals back home with usually better service and hospitality
