Weather question

We are arriving at the Barcelo next week and I noted on the weather forecast that there is going to be 100% cloud cover for a few days...

Does this mean NO sun?

Does this kind of cloud coverage happen often there?

No storms in the area, so don't trust the weather forecast sites.

In 3 -4 days from now, the following week will show lots of sun

It's hard to guess more than 1 week out

The forecast usually indicates lots of clouds with a chance for rain. The reason is that this is the rainy season and clouds build and occasionally rain somewhere. We're on day 8 of our vacation and although the forecast said clouds and rain everyday, we only saw 15 min of a downpour in Playa del Carmen. Even if cloudy, the sun shines through often.
