It will take you about 11 hours (including rest stops) - maybe less if you really hoof it. Manzanillo is the obvious place to stop off for a night. The road is fine but not very quick.

The road is very scenic. It is a windy and curvy road- not one to rush on at all. I would stop in Melaque rather than Manzanillo- it is a quaint little town on the ocean, whereas Manzanillo is a large city...but that is just my preference.

I've "bused it" several times, Know people who have driven it straight through in under 10 hours but I would not recommend that .As above a good stopping off point is Manzanillo with nice beaches, a real Mexican port & where tourism is not their primary concern.

Highly recommend La Posada to stay. About $60 US for two including a cooked to order breakfast. Cute rooms & great views. Lovely pool & right on the best beach in town.
