Peso hits 1-1/2-year high...since October 2008

MEXICO CITY, April 26 - Mexico's peso firmed to a 1-1/2-year high on Monday as U.S. corporate earnings reinforced expectations of an economic recovery in the United States, Mexico's top trading partner.

The peso MXN= MEX01 strengthened 0.1 percent to 12.1528 per U.S. dollar. It earlier hit 12.1282 per dollar, its strongest trading level since Oct. 14, 2008.

Judy The Peso to dollar is always inverse to the US stock Market. The Market goes up the dollar goes down in relation to the peso.

The Mexican stock market is at an all-time high whilst the U.S. markets are still at least 20% off their previous best. It is strange that the U.S. recovery benefits Mexico more than it does the U.S. :))
