Loft Ambar and another hotel

I was wondering if anyone has a e.mail or know how to get in touch with the Loft Ambar - I am curious as to the cost of one of their lofts for a month next year? and also what they are like inside - if anyone can help me here that would be great.

Also, I am trying to remember the name of a hotel that is on a side street (close to where we caught the bus to Melaque) and it is a old building, pink hotel with yellow trim around the windows, nice courtyard.... that is all I can remember. Anyone with a name and a contact would be great....

Wondering if it has any bungalows???

Loft Ambar is owned by Veronic from Ambar del Mare restaurant. She doesn't have an email or web site that I am aware of.

A pink hotel with yellow trim around the windows and a nice courtyard doesn't bring anything to mind even not near the bus stop for Melaque.

Could it have been a yellow hotel with blue trim and a nice courtyard with the entrance on the side street across the street from the bus stop? Casa Senorina B&B fits that description http://www.casasenorina.com/main.htm They have one suite.

There is also the Trivento Hotel but it is not an old building http://www.hoteltrivento.com/

Or on the same side street as Casa Senorina but in the other direction from the bus stop is the Posada Pacifico. They have bungalows, no website but there is contact information and a photo here http://www.costalegre.ca/Barra_Posadas.htm

Hello, thanks for the help, I think that the hotel I am thinking of might be either on Guanajuato or C. Sinaloa, all I know is we caught the bus to Melaque on the corner of a side street close to this hotel. It may not have been a true bus stop.... Am I able to post a picture in a post???

We are tying to rent a bungalow for a month next year, that is under 900.00 for the month. Can you suggest anything. The real killer is that we really need a balcony, can be over the stree, we don't mind as long as we have a balcony.....

Thanks. Sharon.

Under $900 I assume you mean USD and that is tough in the centro of Barra during winter season.

There is nothing at all on Guanajuato it is the street that is only three blocks long and ends at the first canal on one end and the Jardin on the other.

The San Rafael is on Sinaloa but it is yellow and does not have a very impressive court yard. Also no balconies.

You are not thinking of the Hotel Sands down on the lagoon are you? They have a really nice jungle courtyard and bungalows but the bungalow and rooms don't have balconies. They might have something in that budget range though.

The Mar Vida have bungalow style places but not separate rooms in the bungalow, it is pretty open. They have a pool and court yard but the bungalows don't have balconies http://tomzap.com/marvida.html (they are orange and yellow perhaps you mean them?) I think that they might be just in that price range.

There are also the Bungalows Costa Dorada (formerly Polo's Bungalows), they actually fit that description without the nice courtyard and they are yellow not pink. They have plenty of bungalows, some with balconies overhanging the street or sidewalk and they are in three locations in the downtown, all on Veracruz. They don't have a really special courtyard though in any of the locations.

Bungalow/Apartment type places in Barra with balconies apart from Costa Dorada would be:

Casa de Marco apartments with balconies, pool and secure garden grounds http://www.casademarco.com/

Hotel Alondra, hotel in centre of town with pool and balconies http://www.alondrahotel.com/ mostly rooms but have suites with kitchens.

Both have special rates for long term stays but even then would be more than $900 USD per month between Dec 15 2009 and March 15 2010.

Hotel Sarabi, might fit that price range and their front two bungalows have balconies over Veracruz.

Bungalows San Rafael, once again their front two bungalows have balconies overhanging Mazatlan street.

There are also places on the outskirts of town like Colinas de Plata, Sol y Mar and a couple of others that are apartment complexes where the owners do rentals. Many of these would be in that price range but but many are not registered with the government for taxes and permits etc. so they tend not to advertise and are harder to find on-line.

One of the best resources for finding accommodations down here is http://www.costaglegre.ca you might try looking through there. I also have some links to sites on my Barra page here http://www.seatosierra.com/where/pla_02.html

Hope this helps.
