Where to hang out on the beach?

Will be in San Jose Del Cabo in 2 weeks. Not staying at an all inclusive. Where can we spend a day at the beach? Ideally with loungers and food and beverage service.

You might be able to get a day pass at one of the AI's for a fee. You used to be able to do that at the Grand Mayan, but you'll need to check with them or with the others (Royal Solaris, Hola Grand Faro, Barcelo, Holiday Inn, etc.) With it being low season, you would think they would welcome the business.

Other than that, Zippers (beach bar) rents loungers on a raised patio overlooking the sand, but doesn't have a pool so isn't the most luxurious surroundings, but if the surf's up, then you'll have a front seat to watching the surfers.

Overall, it will be hot, hot, hot so I think you should see if you can't connect with an AI because I think you'll want to dip into the water frequently, and the ocean is too dangerous to do that.

The beaches all along hotel row have access, I don't recall food & beverage service outside of the hotels for guests only.

Holiday Inn has a day pass, not sure of the price. They are the last hotel along hotel row next to the estuary.they have the snack bar (hamburgers, hot dogs nachos tacos etc) right next to the beach as well as a bar area and all the pools have bars. You are literally steps to the beach from any ofthe pools/bars & snack bar and there are loungers and some palapas on the beach. You can contact Raul the front desk manager at raul_caudillo@grupopresidente.com or the new #2 guy Sergio at sergio_leon@grupopresidente.com and I am sure they will get back to you and tell you the price and what all is included.

A few years ago someone compared prices of day passes of a few of the resorts and found a great deal at Posada Real. That seems like a reasonable option. (Tho' if you have the money, the service at the Holiday Inn / Presidente has the best reputation.)

If you go to Cabo San Lucas, there are several beach bars on Medano Beach that will let you use their lounge chairs all day as long as you buy food & drinks. You can safely swim there.

We sat on the beach by the El Ganzo hotel. They have plenty of lounge chairs and umbrellas. Park at the hotel and they will put you on a short boat ride to the private beach. There is a restaurant there, if you order food and drinks you don't have to pay extra for the loungers and umbrellas. You can swim there too! A great day.

El Ganzo sounds great! We won't have a car. Is it walkable from near the Mega store?

Not even close to being walkable, its on the other side of the marina, probably a $10 to $15 cab ride each way from Mega

There El Ganzo Hotels Beach club is actually on the same side of the Marina as the Swim with the Dolphins. That is next to the container restaurant and it is walkable. Two ways to do it. In the winter dry season you can walk the beach down to the El Ganzo beach. The El Ganzo Hotel is on the Other side of the Marina, but not the Beach club.

The other way to get there by road is walk across the bridge that crosses the estuary and into the Swim with the Dolphin area. Then just walk down past the dolphin area to the ElGanzo Beach club.

Its a good walk from the Mega store, but if you like to walk its very do able. Probably 2 miles.

A day pass is 61 dollars per adult at the Holiday Inn - Valid from 9-5 just in case anyone else is wondering.
