Pueblo Bonito Sunset Beach with older teens over New Years

We are planning a trip to Cabo the first week of January, and bringing our two older teens. One in college and one in high school. Pueblo Bonito Sunset Beach is offering a good deal, but we're hoping that it is not a lovers hotel or for old geezers.

We could also stay at PB's Rosé or Los Cabos for just a bit more.

Thoughts?

Sunset Beach is much nicer than Rose or Blanco plus you can still visit those and use your AI. We only spent 1 night there but we played water volleyball and blackjack tournament with our teenage son, it's a nice family resort. It's just a ways from town and a very large resort.

Thanks Craig. Do you know if they have a shuttle to Rosé or Blanco?

There is a shuttle but did not use it. I believe that you need to schedule it in advance.

Frobscottle: Just wanted to mention that you have posted on the San Jose del Cabo forum. (The quieter town of the Los Cabos area). The Pueblo Bonito properties are all in Cabo San Lucas. You might get more responses if you post on the Cabo Forum.

Hi

Your chosen resort is just outside of Cabo San Lucas, about 20+ miles from San Jose del Cabo. (This is the San Jose forum.)

Shuttle is free, but you must have a ticket from the Bell Captain. As you're visiting during the busiest time of the year, it's possible that all the bus tickets will be given out quickly.

I think the taxi is about $14US or maybe 250-280 pesos to Medano Beach from PBSB. Add more folks to the 14 passenger vans for an additional fee.

Renting a unit from a timeshare owner might be a better deal. More info about that option in the Top Questions on the right side of the Cabo forum, full TA website.

Actually, now they make you hike up to the Quivera Marketplace to get your free tickets (at the Sunset Beach location). Guessing it's to draw everyone up to see the new Market Place (upscale food court). Anyway - it works like this.

From Sunset Beach; if you can - go up to the bell captain AT THE Marketplace the day before and get your free tickets. The tickets are for a specific hour 9, 10, 11, 12, 1, etc. Then just be there BEFORE (10-15 min is best) your allotted time. Get on the bus and ride over to the Rose. When you get to the Rose - go to the Bell Caption THERE and request your RETURN TICKETS. These will be on the 1/2 hour 930, 1030, 1130, etc.

IF you screw up and tickets aren't available for when you want, they do have a standby line for each bus run. Obviously you need to be there even earlier to enhance your chance of traveling standby. Once all the ticked passengers have boarded, (at the top of the hour for Sunset, at the 1/2 hour for Rose) they will start boarding standby's until the bus is full (or no one else is left).

Some additional info: Since at least early November (or earlier). Some DEPARTING GUESTS will catch their return airport transportation up at the Marketplace as well. Our friend used the Sunset Beach contracted shuttle and she departed from the Marketplace on the morning she checked out. When we left later on that same day, our TransCabo shuttle picked us up at the main lobby area. So I'm guessing they are sending some DEPARTING guests up to the Market Place to cut down on congestion at the main lobby.
