Timeshare pres = $200 saving on whale watchings. Worth it?

We are staying at the Welk Resort Serina Del Mar. We've decided to do the timeshare presentation in exchange for $260 savings off the rack rate for a whale watching tour for a family of 5. I figure we're actually saving $200 because we could have haggled the price down, so I'm curious. Is this worth it for 1.5 hours of our time? Would you do it? Input appreciated.

it will be more than 1.5 hrs..more likely 3.5 to 5 hrs depending on how long they can pressure to buy a timeshare for up to 75000 dollars/

For us, timeshare presentations are never worth it. I work too hard and too long for my precious vacation time to sit there and get the hard sell and possibly a confrontation. And I would never in a million years buy one, so I would be wasting their time as well as my own.

We're Welk owners and do the spiel every visit (they call it owner's update rather than a sales pitch if you already own). I'd say they're pretty low-key at Sirena del Mar. We've met their criteria for going thru the talk in about an hour.

I doubt you will be there five hours, however, you aren't getting a good deal. They should give you the five tickets plus money, like at least $200 if you're a couple. You can easily get whale watching tours for $30 a person from Los Cabos Guide. TS tours seem to pay more for couples than they do for single people. I am single and wouldn't do a tour for less than $150 cash.

Don't do it!!!! Too many other ways to get a good price on whale watching. Don't waste your vacation time and risk the chance of spending the rest of the day aggravated.
