What to pack??

I'm just starting to pack our bags for Wednesday's departure, and am having a hard time deciding what we need to bring along.

Does my husband need to bring long pants for the specialty restaurants at the Riu Palace?

Will I be under dressed in casual cotton sundresses and flip flops, or should I bring something more dressy with decent shoes?

Do I need a sweater for the evenings - even in July?

Any other packing tips would be greatly appreciated.

You need long pants in only a few places in Baja and a sundress and flip flops should be just fine. I take a nice pair of shoes for evenings just because I like to feel a bit more dressy, but that's just me.........I would take a light wrap just in case....they may have the AC turned up even..............plus-they are usually handy on the flight. It is quite casual in Baja....swim suit and pareo during the day-shorts to walk into town........capri's.....just be comfy. I take a bottle of Downey Wrinkle Releaser so I can spray the t-shirts, etc.........much easier to spray and hang than iron.

Have a grand time!

We ate at the Mexican and the steakhouse. Neither was strict in dress code. I am told that the Gourmet and Japanese are more strict in the dress code. So your hubby will need long pants and collared shirt. I don't think it was worth waiting on line to make the reservations for either the steakhouse or the Mexican restaurants. You can only make 2 reservations at a time. Try the japanese and/or Gourmet instead. Also make your reservations as soon as you get there. The line is usually long. Most of the dinner/evening wear was summer dress casual. Nice shorts or casual dresses was the norm.

The evenings are comfortable. You don't need a sweater.

Don't forget to bring enough sunblock. It was 15-17 USD for 4-6 oz at the resort as well in the town of Cabo. I paid 4.99 for the same stuff at home. Bring enough Lomotil with you. All 4 of us was sick at some point during the week. I think it was the food.
