FYI: Southern CA Travelers To Cabo

Just doing a little searching on airline prices (just to make me feel bad for paying $329 from San Diego). America West has extended their $199 flights into the month of May now. Looks like most days are still avail. Prices may be similar from Los Angeles/Orange County as well (just a guess). I found the flights thru travelocity.

Thanks for the info. Does that include taxes though? I will keep this in mind for clients if it's available on their web page. People will often drive to SoCal if they have friends or family there, and then fly on to SJD.

Oops, my goof, does not include taxes, but this is certainly instructional;

Total Fare $194.00

Tax: US International Arrival $14.50

Tax: US International Departure $14.50

Tax: Mexico International Airport Depart. $27.17

Tax: Mexican Tourist Tax $19.77

Fee: US Immigration $7.00

Fee: US Animal & Plant Health Insp. Svc. $5.00

Fee: US Passenger Facility Charge $13.50

September 11 Security Fee $7.50

Total Per Passenger $302.94

Just on the U.S. side, Uncle Sugar is collecting

$62 in taxes and fees.

Yep-isn't it wonderful! We pay close to $100 in taxes for a trip to Cabo bu the time you add in everything for everyone! Surprisingly, the fares haven't changed that much in close to 10 years though!

Sd,

i find it amazing and mind numbing. although i use frequent flier mileage 99% of the time i just checked flights from here, Va. Beach via Richmond and a round trip tic is 571.00 on AA now. Richmond is a long way from SD. go figure. coast to coast and 1000 miles down the Baja for about 200 bucks more. hard to figure and if you fly out of BWI, Baltimore/Washington its about 400.00 RT. So happy to see EXXON posted record profits but the airlines are all in bankruptcy. yeah. right. I paid 64 dollars to fill up my vehicle today. if i start walking more it would only be a matter of days before i could buy a RT tic to Baja! Sure hope the cost of beer doesnt go up. Buena Suerte... jim

We booked with AA today from Los Angeles, flying July 2nd $337.04 total. I was having a hard time finding a flight out early (9:30 a.m.)

302 sounds high from LA unless it is a non-stop....I have 303 per person all included from oakland to cabo.

Silly me...I would guess most flights out of LA would be non-stop. Guess meant you pay more for non-stops from Bay Area.
