Tipping at RUI

Have heard that some hotels have rules on tipping. Are there any rule in place at the RUI?

There has been a number of posts where individuals write they have tipped the maids and waiters at the Riu. Nothing referenced any kinds of rules. The Riu is all inclusive - which includes the tips.

Why not tip? What the heck? It couldn't hurt.

You should tip, always

It is not included in their pay, please. They earn very little and common sense will tell you that they will be happy to assist you more if you are generous and kind. It certainly will help to get you extra bath towels, or whatever you request, also can get you into the dinner places without a reservation, or a bottle of wine to take back to your room.

At any hotel, I am shocked at how many people dont leave a for tip their housekeeper , as if that is some bizarre ritual.

We just got back from the Riu. We tipped for the wonderful service we received. They were graciously accepted so there are no rules against it. We just brought a lot of $1 bills.

All gratuities are included. However, one should definitely tip the bellboy or whoever carries your baggage to your room. Also it really is only common courtesy to leave a minimum of $2 per day on your pillow for the maid. They earn very little money.

Tipping other people is, as the previous poster noted, both pleasant and guarantees exceptional service.

However, there are no rules and tipping is at the discretion of the traveler.

All of the all-inclusives in Cabo include Gratuities. This is approximately 10% and is turned over to the workers Union in Cabo. It is then, supposedly, divided up among all employees of the resort (excluding management).
