Depending on which hotel you go to ,and how many people the Apple rep trys to cram into the van-it could be about 90 min.Tulum is the last drop off point from the airport-so you will have to endure dropping people off at each resort along the way.

I wouldn't pay $100 for a special limo - just got back from BPT - Even if you were driven directly to BPT from the airport it would still take at least one hour - enjoy the ride and opportunity to see some of the other resorts - don't pay $100 for the sake of 30 minutes.

We went to Sunscape Tulum via Apple in January; the van trip from Cancun to Tulum made two stops before Sunscape - all of about ten minutes each (enough for a bathroom break) - giving us the opportunity to see a couple of the other resorts. When you arrive at your hotel, the champagne and cookies will make you forget the ride immediately. On return to Cancun, we were the first pick-up by one of their big tour buses - many stops later (a good 2 1/2 hr trip) we pulled into the airport - not nearly as much fun, but we did get to see many more resort lobby's.

Do you need to allow for extra time getting back to the airport when you are leaving Cancun? What would be your best estimate?

Also, how many do they fit on the buses? Are they similar to a normal tour bus - Greyhound type or the type they run between the airport and the rental cars

Apple will schedule your departure time from your hotel with plenty of time to make stops and get to airport well in advance of your flight time, i.e. our departure was scheduled for 10:30am, we left Sunscape/Tulum at approx. 6am (make sure you pack the night before!), and as I said previously, the "tour" size bus made many stops along the way, eventually arriving at the airport at about 8:30. To ease the blow of departing so early, Sunscape had a nice continental breakfast set up in the lobby, which was very much appreciated.

About 90 minutes is about right if there is no traffic.

We drove on Sunday, from airport to BPA and it was clear sailing on the roads. People tend to speed...even the bus drivers. Saw some police...but they don't seem to care about the speeding even though there are posted speed limits.

Does anyone how how much it would be to get a taxi from the airport to Tulum? Is it more reasonable than the $100 price through Apple tours quoted earlier?

We're going through Funjet and are only paying $18 pp extra for Non-stop transportation to our hotel. We're going to Club Maeva.

Why is Apple so expenseive??

Just got back tonight- the trip frrom the airport to the BPT was not too bad- made a few stops, but we had a great "tour guide"- very lively and fun. Also watched an Apple Vacation tape about the area.

We are all excited to there- took about 90 minutes.

The ride on the way back was terrible... picked up at the BPT and them made 6 stops before arriving at the airport. It was cloudy and a bit rainy, end of vacation,etc...

The bus is very comfortable, no complaints... Just a LONG ride...
