Yes, there is a brand-new place you can go called Yaax'tal. The manager is an expat and she is providing a gluten-free menu.

The restaurant is on Prolongacion Paseo de Montejo (the continuation of Paseo Montejo) north of the centro. As you drive north, you'll see Blockbuster on your right, and it will be on your left. You probably have to do a Uturn at the next stoplight, which is where you'll see an Office Depot.

Thanks to the "improvements" made to traffic as a result of our "modern" underpass, you can not make a u turn or even a left turn at that intersection; instead, you will have to make a right after Office Depot (Calle 19) then 1 block later again right and again right another block later. Go through the light on Montejo and try turning left one or two blocks later. Then left again 1 block after that to come out again on Montejo. Turn right and it is right there. What a great solution to our traffic problems, huh?

Thanks :-) Seems a bit complicated. Unfortunately, we will be on foot. Not renting a car. Just there for the weekend. I'll figure something out.

You can EASILY just catch a cab there... its not that far (but a little too far to walk). Just tell the cab to take you to Blockbuster on Prolongacion de Paseo Montejo and you can walk across the street and about half a block north to Yaaxtal.

Good luck and have fun!
