Downtown hotel

Looking for a hotel for two nights downtown. Have stayed at Park Royal but looking for something closer to town and not and all inclusive.

A number of good choices but my first choice would be Casa Mexicana.

We haven't stayed at CM but I'd like to try it. We have stayed three times at Suites Colonial and liked it fine. FYI- downtown hotels can be noisy...take ear plugs.

A smaller place that should be less prone to noise is Hacienda San Miguel a few blocks north of the square.

I recently stood at Hotel Flamingo. I really enjoyed it. Close to everything, nicely decorated large rooms, breakfast included. Owner (Tom ) is very helpful & hospitable.

I've become rather partial to the Suites Bahia my last few trips. Old style Mexican hotel....big rooms, mini kitchen, not posh at all, just everything you need in a great location. Price includes the breakfast buffet at Casa Mexicana. Plus it's cheap.

Another vote for Casa Mexicana. We stayed there for one night last September. The room was clean and comfortable, the staff was friendly, and we enjoyed the location.

Cheers!

Stayed at casa mexicana last June. Loved the location as it was close enough to everything that we could leave our car parked at night and walk to dinner. Very comfortable and very good breakfast buffet.
