there last feb, took about 1 hour
Customs is actually the easy part - most people just have to hand over their forms and are waved through. Immigration, baggage claim, and security are really what takes time.
You will deplane, go through immigration which can have significant lines if a lot of flights arrive together. Then you have to pick up your checked luggage if you have any, pass through customs and recheck your luggage. Then you go through security and to your next gate.
It is common in Houston to have 60-90 minutes between flights, which is ok - you'll have to be on the ball, but assuming things go smoothly, this is enough time. Don't dawdle, walk fast, get into the shortest immigration line, and if at all possible, go carry-on only so you don't have to wait at baggage claim for your stuff.
