Brand new hotel and it's right next door to the Cancun Palace. I'm leaving this Saturday to Cancun and will get to see how far along the hotel is to opening. They are expected to open by next summer.

Just returned from Cancun last week. This is a brand new bldg being built next to Cancun Palace. So far it's not even close to finish but already looks like a 20 story highrise.

Its huge. I'd go so far to say its a monstrosity! It just dwarfs the poor LeMeridien. I dont think it would've been allowed to have been built if it were US codes...

I think its going to suck. A big nasty high rise cramed into a narrow strip of land where you are close enough to talk to people on the next hotel over. Did a Google Earth on it and they won't have room for much grounds or even a nice decent size pool. Who wants to feel jammed or crowded with people in a samll space on vacation.

So far I say "no thanks" , they should have gotten the big empty lot next to the Live Aqua.

Secrets is a reputable company and this isn't their 1st time building a resort. I'm sure they considered the # of guests to services/amenities. I wouldn't be worried that there isn't going to be enough space around the pool. I'm personally looking forward to it.
