Thomson Airways - Boeing 787 Dreamliner

Hi

I've read that Thomson Airlines have purchased 11 Boeing 787 Dreamliner Planes for delivery in January 2012.

Does anybody know if these planes will be replacing their existing Boeing 767 for long haul flights and if so, if you've already booked a holiday for summer 2012 will you be flying on these new planes?

I've booked our honeymoon to Cancun for July 2012 and would love to be flying on one of these new planes, they do look amazing.

You will get there any old way.......Thomson Airways will use their 767's instead of the Dreamliner.

Hi Robert,

I don't know the in's/out's but from what I can gather they were planning to retire some of the 767's, but having read their reply I can only assume that they are planning to put that on hold should the Dreamliner not be forthcoming in the near future???

Hi weddingplanner,

Don't know about getting anything definite .. I'm not holding by breath, but on can only hope!

I don't mind flying on the 767 as long as they replace those worn out seats.

Let's just hope Thomson have the 787 in service by May 1st.

I doubt they'll replace the seats. They're due to be withdrawn as and when the Dreamliners are flying their routes.

I think 1st May is a bit of a long shot, but you never know.

LOL......dont hold your breath as Leyland mentioned they are to be withdrawn as and when the Dreamliners are flying their routes.......I would suggest you use your blanket or pillow to sit on to make your flight more comfortable as the seats are now rock hard.........I had to do this on my last flight in October !!!!

Lol. I sat on my fleece blanket the last time I flew with them, and that is nearly 2 years ago!

To be honest I think they have been rock hard for the past 5 years

from memory.....or it could be the older I am getting the more I feel the discomfort :)))))

Thomson informed us yesterday that we would'nt be flying the 787 on May 10th from Gatwick. It came as no surprise to my wife & I. They said they would try to honour the seats we just recently booked in premium class but that they could'nt promise that they anything. So it's back to the rockhard seats on the 767.
