BEckybrit at BBC

Thanks for previous info, have a couple more questions about BBC.

Do you get fridges in the room?

What is the power supply like, did you take flat pin american adapters or the usual international one?

appreciate your help

Sorry Becky, yet another question. Did you use eco friendly sunscreen at all and if so did you buy it in Cancun and can you remember how much it cost.

Watch this space - bound to think of something else!

Hi Jaybird, no problem I love talking about Cancun, actually will probably be wanting to ask you questions when you get back! When are you going by the way?

We used normal sunscreen for sunbathing by the pool etc but when we went on the jungle tour a couple we knew who were leaving give us a bottle they hadnt used so we had that for the trips, sorry can be much help- they do sell it in the BBc shop but dunno how much.If you go on the www.bluebaycancun.com website and click on the live help box they should be able to give you a price. By the way nicest and friendliest staff are:

Chelo, Tina, Alfredo(water sports cool guy)Francesco(waiter) and Alex (bartender-pool bar) tell Tina( english girl on entertainment team) that the honeymoon couple Becky and Lee say hi and hope shes doin ok- it was her first week when we were there and she was a bit nervous but realy nice too.

Ooh i'm so excited now wish i was there - you are gonna have a fab time!!!

Didn't realise you'd gone on your honeymoon - what a wonderful start to your married life. We are going on 4 January, when everyone else is returning to work we will be at the airport. Leaving my hubby behind (he won't fly longhaul) and having a girly week as it is somewhere my friend and I have always wanted to go.

Did you remember to ask you hubby about the adaptor? We have requested a beachfront room don't know if we'll get one. Your fridge was probably a special as you were on honeymoon.

Did you go to any of the clubs and did you use a discount card?

told you there would be more questions Becky!!

A lot of people staying there had fridges so maybe you will have one too?

I would email the BBC directly and say that you want a beachfront room not the ones across the street as they are the older, shabbier ones they will try to accomodate you and if you arent happy just say you want to move they are so friendly and will want to keep you happy- tip the men who carry your suitcases as they are so sweet and will help you with anything even sorting out the taxi driver when he tries to charge you too much.

We didnt use a discount card- we booked all our trips through the entertainment staff by the pool as they run the trips with 12 seater minbuses with air con and fridges full of drinks rather than stuffy 52 seater buses with warm bottles. The trips you should go on are: Jungle Tour, Isla Mujeres and Chichen Itza(although its a long day and gets a lil hot)

We went to senor Frogs but most nights were happy sitting outside by the hotel bar or in the lobby- make sure you watch the celebrity show and film it - its so funny!

Also Casino night is good fun- you play with fake money and get to buy stuff with it in an auction at the end- go to Alfredos table he was very generous with his money!!

All Lee can remember is that we took the wrong plugs- you can buy them anywhere in Cancun tho-the OXO shops (like our Spars) sell pretty much evrything you will need, although the hotel shop is pretty good too.

When you arrive at the airport youwill be given a bag full of stuff like vouchers for 2 4 1 meals etc so dont go buying them- make sure you eat at the Oysters and Ostras bar at least once- go for the chicken with basil and cheese- yum!

Try the cocktails-after all its free- Miami Vice was my fave but the Blue Bay is pretty good too- I pretty much stuck to Martinin and Lemonade (my staple drink) which they werent afraid to dose out in large quantities- most of the vodka/whisky etc were foreign brands but the Martini was the proper stuff-More questions? Perfect honeymoon- we will be back for our first wedding anniversary!

Wow! Thanks so much for all the information, its really nice to get it from someone who has experienced things first hand.

I'm sure I'll think of some more before January but I'll certainly try emailing the hotel in advance. Thanks for the tip. We have requested beach front via our tour operator but they don't guarrantee this and there was no option to pay extra for it.

I'll let you know via this site if they respond.

Thanks again Becky

Becky - have tried to email them via their website but for some reason it won't accept my email address as it ends .uk and not .com. Do you have their email address so I could do it directly?

Can;t find it on any of their info either - only their normal address and telephone numbers.

Thanks in advance for your reply

Hi JayBird,

I cant get onto the website at the moment but the email address they used to reply to me is reserv2@bluebayresorts.com and make sure you specify that its the BBC and not the BBG. If you have any more questions feel free to ask but if you want email me directly @ rebecca.jones7@dvla.gsi.gov.uk

Hope to hear from you soon.
