Drowning in Tulum

According to todays Diario de Quintana Roo a 41 one year old Danville, Ca. mans body was found floating in the sea at Tulum. Apparently went to the ocean alone after lunch and the body was seen later. He was vacationing with wife and friends there.

Tulum is beatiful, but has a very strong undertow. I am not surprised.

It is a very sad!

I'm very ignorant as to how a undertow acts, could someone please enlighten me???

I had a friend who almost died as a result of a undertow near Cancun years ago and has never been back, he said it was the strangest thing he has ever experienced.
