First, I apologize if someone along the way has helped with this topic. Just refer me to the date in the thread and I'll check it out. Otherwise, my wife and I are looking for a month's rental...clean, sunny, private (or shared) outdoor garden area. Within a 15 - 20 minute walk to the Zocolo. $500-$700. Where do we look?

Try (vacationrentals.com) or (vrbo.com) we have used both and had no problems

Across the street from my apartment are the Villas de Alcala bungalows. I don't know the owners and I think it recently changed hands. They are individual bungalows with two beds, equipped kitches, DSL internet, air conditioning, shared garden, and so forth. I am pretty sure they also have cable television. The last time I checked the price was in your range and as with many places the price is negotiable.

Next time I go out I'll get their web page address. I think it's on the wall of the property.

Hi, I would love to know what you find. My family is planning to spend a week there in April. I have not been back to Oaxaca since 1977 and wonder what damage the recent unrest and violence has left. Have you heard anything about the status of the Zocalo area and any effect on the artisan villages I loved to visit? Thanks!

FirstLadyKY, a good idea would be to post your question separately, rather than tag on to nick's city rental question! Also, if you check out previous posts by titosarah, you might get a better idea of the status of the city.
