Mexico City Marriott Reforma to Chapultepec Castle

Looking at map, it appears to be about a mile or so. It is possible to walk or is there a better option to get there?

Using Google Maps in the walking mode it states 1.2 miles and 24 minutes. We took a taxi from the castle to the Marriott at about 4pm on a Friday and it took longer than 24 minutes.

We learned a "new to us trick" when planning walks in Mexico City: plotted walking routes using Google Maps and then did a "send" to my phone. Worked extremely well and allowed us to plot attractions, restaurants and bars that were of interest during our walks. If we spotted something not planned that took us off our planned route, the maps would recalculate and put us back on track. Even better, after the trip was complete we could pull a timeline for each day that detailed walking, riding public transportation or riding in a vehicle with facts on time and distance for each.

Yes, it is possible to walk. I suppose you're thinking that it might be one of those Google Maps cases where suddenly there's no way to cross an avenue, no pavement, etc. but this is not the case here. You will walk along Paseo de la Reforma, one of the city's most important avenues and a mildly interesting walk. Tall office buildings, corporate workers, guys selling this and that, a glimpse of the city worth seeing. Go ahead. Have fun.

Thanks for the info. When we travel to various places, we normally walk 12-15 miles a day, so this wouldn't be an issue to us. I just wanted to make sure there was a place to walk safely.

Just pay attention to traffic when crossing streets and you should be fine! Reforma offers a casual glimpse at one of the more modern areas.
