1 Simple Question for a New Travelor

I'm worried about what's safe to eat, or what I should avoid. I've been told not to have anything with ice.

My husband and I have very sensitive stomachs, so please don't be offended by this question.

Hi, I suspect that you are travelling to Guadalajara only? Or to other destinations? I would not make "blanket statements" like 'All ice is safe', because it is not. Most of it is, but if you are a world traveler you can get a bug just about anywhere. Guadalajara is a safe city with restaurants serving purified ice. There are also misconceptions about salads, etc. There is a great salad bar restaurant by the name of Chai on Ave. Vallarta and their brand new one downtown on Juarez, which actually is the same street. Everything fresh and purified. And it is in Guadalajara, not Kansas City! It never hurts to travel with ciprofloxicin, from your doctor. You can also buy it over the counter here in Mexico. It is just a nice saftey net, if you decide to get more adventurous with your food and drink choices. Enjoy Mexico, and especially beautiful Guadalajara....unless you are going to Kansas city!

To mexicowinters.

It is a shame that you are using offensive denigrating language, here in Trip Advisor., especially to another member.

I took this from Trip Advisor Rules trying to keep the spirit of this forum and the respect that we all deserve.

Please be civil and post respectfully to avoid unnecessary arguments and to keep our forum moderators from having to get involved

Postings must be family-friendly.

We will remove messages containing objectionable language and images, including but not limited to profanity, obscenity, vulgarity, racial/ethnic slurs, hate speech, personal insults, hostile comments, and threatening language. All the standard curse words are banned, and we will remove messages that contain clever misspellings intended to circumvent the content filters. We will also remove any messages that promote or seek advice on engaging in illegal activities*, and graphic descriptions of death or injuries -- whether due to accidents, negligence or criminal acts.

The forums are friendly, interactive discussion areas of our site where members can ask for and share their opinions, advice and experiences as travelers. You can get a lot of great travel advice in the forums, however keep in mind that any information and advice offered by other members should be taken with a dose of common sense and treated as a starting point for your travel research.

Post carefully and respectfully as posts cannot be edited.

This means you can't change your spelling, fix your grammar or take back any off-hand comments you may have made. In a world full of different cultures, experiences, opinions, and preferences, people will always disagree. TripAdvisor encourages active discussions in our forums, even those about controversial topics, but debates should always remain civil and respectful as the forums are not a place for interpersonal disputes. A single profanity, hostile comment or personal insult - even in a well-considered post - can lead to the removal of a post. If you can't offer friendly advice to a fellow traveler, it may be wiser to move along to the next thread.
