is it worth hauling our snorkel gear????

we're going to zihua next month to visit my best friend & her husband, who are parked there on their sailboat for their second season.

we still haven't figured out which hotel or anything, but our main concern at the moment is luggage. usually when we travel, it's on "company trips" and we're walked through it every step of the way. (pitiful, i know!) we'll be on our own this time, passing through mexico city, and would like NOT to check any baggage. (THIS time i won't need "cocktail attire" LOL)

we just got back from puerto vallarta & the snorkeling was pretty crappy. is it even WORTH taking our stuff?

A friend of mine just returned from Zihua last Saturday. He said the dives were excellent! This prompted my wife and I to go purchase snorkel equipment to bring instead of renting. He said our best bet is Las Gatas, La Ropa or Ixtapa Island.

Our flight leaves this Saturday morning.

Snorkeling gear is easy to rent on both Las Gatas and Ixtapa Isle if you didn't want to lug your stuff down there.

Always best to bring your own stuff...at least anything that goes into your mouth...that way you know who had it there last!

When in Zihua, consider snorkeling at the south end of the Ixtapa bay, start at the Pacifica resort and if you swim around the bend you will come to a beach where Las Brisas hotel is located.

oh, i couldn't agree more on that one!

usually we take a "dedicated snorkel bag" that we check in, but i'm sure we can find room for our masks & snorkels in our carry-ons!

thanks, all!
