Vista Club Playa De Oro

I'm planning a family vacation to PV and we're considering the Vista Club; I gather it has been renovated and is being rebranded as Crown Paradise; can any one comment: are the renovations completed? what are the improvements associated with being a Crown Paradise resort? is the kid's program decent? (we have 2 girls, ages 9 & 11); we're planning to arrive in PV on the Saturday of the Easter long weekend - what impact does Easter have on PV? Any comments would be appreciated. Thanks.

We stayed at the playa de oro in Feb 2003. Loved it. It then was attached to a newer part of a hotel (more elegant) with a small , almost private pool that nobody seemed to be in. The playa de oro was great. We were lucky to get a room over looking the pool and a piece of the ocean. Staff were great, food was good (for a week) . It was a very clean hotel. We loved it. We are going back this feb and would stay there again only we thought to try something different.

We have stayed at the Crown Paradise Club (new name for Vista Club) for four years running and returning in February 2005. It is owned by the Golden Crown Paradise which is adult only and next door. I have been in contact with the hotel and many of the renovations are now complete and the balance within the next month. They have added a new pool with a swim up bar, a new a la carte restaurant, upgrades in the rooms (bathtub, coffee maker, furnishings).

Thanks for the replies. This resort sounds good and would have been our choice; unfortunately the one direct charter flight from our city (Edmonton AB) is booked for that departure so we're having to juggle arrangements -we're looking at the Fiesta Americana or the Canta Del Sol instead.

seldomred: we did end up booking the CP Club; through Air Canada vacations and going through Vancouver; thus we've read with interest (and with thanks) all the recent posts about this property.
