Anyone comments on this system. My son just left today for his honeymoon to Rui Pacifico.

Wow. Never actually seen one that was forcasted to go that direction. Not to say it hasn't happened, I've just never seen it.

I'd like to hear what people say too, since we're headed there next week.

The best website for tropical storm/hurricane information. Bookmark it.

Edit: I think I'd be more concerned about this one if I were going to Cabo than PV. We'll see where it heads, but the heart of it if it gains power looks to aim right at the Baja. And they're far more vulnerable than PV.

Jenny, make sure you're looking at the right one. There are two. One is headed more North, but Ten-E is predicted to take aim right at the pacific coast around PV. Check the link I posted. Both your link and mine predict this path and predict to be a cat 1 when it makes landfall.

Looking at the trajectory map, even if it follows the exact course it's on, it's supposed to be tropical storm strength by Tuesday, and take landfall south of Vallarta.

The south shore of the Bay of Banderas has natural protections from the Sierra Madre Mountains, which work very well to dissipate storms. The bay is really almost a natural "hurricane hole".

I'd say you'll get rain and wind, but I would be very surprised of anything else. Having been in PV when one of these things passed outside the mouth of the bay (Hugo in 2009), all we got was rain/wind/high seas and waves for most of the day...followed by a cloud dissipation and one of the most beautiful sunsets I've ever seen:
