Things to say to timeshare people-to make them leave you...

Is there any simple "outs" to say to time share people that will make them back off? It seems a polite no thanks doesn't work! Is there a specific age you have to be to own one? Do you have to be a married couple? Have a credit card on you? Any other suggestions would be great!!

Smurfboy,

We stayed at an AI with the neon green bracelet and this did not stop or even slow down the TS people from trying to get us to sign up. Please let me know which AI will do that...lol I will stay there next time!

Hotel wrist bands mean nothing, in fact, you can own multiple timeshares (and many do) and the TS OPCS actually look for people who already own as it shows they are a "buyer".

In fact, a wrist band does not always mean you are staying at an All Inclusive Hotel, they have wrist bands for some tours, for the water park, the zoo, and for bar crawls. No OPC looks carefully enough at your wrist band to determine what your is/was for.

This one little phrase works wonders:

"No tengo tarjeta de credito"

"I do not have a credit card."

You must have a credit card to qualify for a presentation.

:)

"No Thank You" (and sound like you mean it) is all you have to do. No matter what they say, smile and say it again and keep walking.

They don't bother French Canadians because supposedly we are all cheap. We've been down this road before....

Not all French Canadians are cheap but some are and so they lump them all in together and say "don't bother...they're too cheap to buy".

I personally take offense to that but hey, if it'll get rid of the time share people, I'll gladly speak to them in French ;)

Are you serious? I'm married to a French Canadian and have never heard that before. I'll have to tell hime to work on his French accent because he doesn't have one if it keeps sales people away LOL.

I have a British Accent, will that tun them off too ...I can only hope!

Swansea, eh?

Say something to them in Welsh, that'll do it.

Make sure it's something rude :)
