List of Drop Dead Restaurants I Cannot Miss on Next Visit

So, I've been home for 10 days from Mazatlan and have two months to wait before I can return, so guess what I'm thinking about - food in Mazatlan! So I started my "must hit" restaurant list for our next 14 night visit.

Here's what I have so far (not in order):

1) Mr. Lionso's - one of my faves; surprisingly missed it on last trip

2) Mr. Lobster - favorite new place of all time!

3) Arre Lulu - if it's re-opened I love this place!

4) Mi Terazza - never been there but based on what others have said on this forum have to go

5) Pancho's - no explanation required

6) El Paraje - never been but their lobster and all you can drink margarita special seems like it can't be beat!

7) Loco's Loco's - of course, they are like family

8) Joe's Oyster Bar - never been, maybe for lunch?

9) Topolo's

10) Pedro Y Lola

11) Il Mosto - never been but I thought I would include it in our Plaza Machado options

12) Fat Fish - for the great ribs

13) The Seafarer - never been, is this worth a try?

14) La Canoa - love the owner

Other places - maybe for lunch or breakfast

1) Water's Edge - for Sunday brunch for sure

2) Lety's - for the day when visiting and enjoying Stone Island

3) El Fish Market - lunch or afternoon snacks

4) Mary's - for breakfast

5) La Cueva del Leon

6) Christie's, Gus Gus, Margaritas, El Capitano - worth a visit??

Let me know what I'm missing or what other recommendations you have.

Went to Mr Lobster for dinner. The shrimp dinners were excellent. I had the tequila shrimp and my husband had the chili/garlic shrimp. The shrimp were plentiful and it came with potato, salad and mixed veggies. We will return. The only negative is the loud music. Next time we'll sit closer to the entrance instead of in the rear. Maybe it's less noisy there. Great meal and reasonable. Only 95 pesos each. Cerveza only 15 pesos. Highly recommended.

Goood news...the former Mr As location, next to Ricos i(near Marys) n the heart of the Golden Zone is being extensively renovated. Word is that El Fish Market is opening another restaurant there. Within walking distance of mi casa!

That is good news Sombrerouno, we have always liked the location and enjoyed Mr A's, the place has been empty for quite some time and it will be great to see it re-open, especially if it is El Fish Market. We've ate there several times and enjoyed it, now that they are closer to El Moro we won't have to walk so far...

I loved Mr. A's.

I still have photos of when the tablecloth on the cart caught fire when they were making us Spanish coffees and they tried to douse the flames with the bottles of tequila and brandy. It was hilarious at the time.

It looked like Munchkins was closed last week. We ate at Las Zerapes and had great food as always.

We have actually had very good dinners at Papagayo ( Inn at Mazatlan) the last couple of years, great coconut shrimp. Little pricey but the food was great.

So a couple of my original list have closed, a couple likely won't make the cut and I've added a couple. Any way you look at it I'll be eating great - leave in just six sleeps!
