Hotel El Faro situation resolved

There has been an agreement reached between the workers union and the company owning the el Faro Hotel. The strike is over, and it must be a huge relief for the employees after all this time.

El Faro has been closed for more than two years beachlover. It's great news this impasse has finally been resolved, however the deterioration that has occured during the closure makes it improbable the El Faro will reopen anytime in the near future.

Roger the hotel was originally called the Camino Real. However there was a large El Presidente Hotel in Cabo San Lucas. Coincidently the first time we visited Mazatlan we stayed in the Camino Real after having first spent a week in Cabo at the El Presidente.

The El Presidente was in Cabo San Jose, however, and not Cabo San Lucas. It was an AI many years ago before they were popular, and we never stayed there but did check it out while staying in Cabo San Lucas. It was a very nice property.

Yeah if memory serves isn't the Camino Real where President Reagan stayed when he visited Mazatlan in the 80's? It's good to hear that they have plans for the property.

You are right, Tony. Reagan was at the Camino Real on Feb. 13, 1988.

Here is an old photo of Camino Real after it was just built.

Notice no marina on the left and nothing visible on the right as far as the point where Las Flores Hotel is now.
