Best resort for snorkeling in Mazatlan?

I'm planning a trip to Mazatlan and would love to stay in a resort where you can snorkel right off the beach. Any suggestions?

Sadly, not really any where you can go snorkeling right in front. All our hotels are right on the beach, and it is open to the pacific ocean. So the wave an current action stir's the water up too much be be really clear. The best snorkeling would be on Deer or Bird Island. They are right off shore, but you need a very short boat ride to get there. It really would not matter which hotel or resort you stay at because you can get there from any of them. That said, the Royal Villas, Costa De Oro, Inn at Mazatlan, and El Cid are RIGHT in front of the islands. Any and all can help you arrange a trip over. You can get there on a 'Panga' (A 24 foot open skiff with a BIG outboard motor), a Hobi Cat, or if they still have it, an amphibious landing craft that comes from the El Cid and drives down the beach in front of the hotels I mentioned, then turns and drives into the water and becomes a boat. It goes over to Deer Island about every 2 hours so you can come back when ever you are done. (They have a small shack that sells cold drinks on the Island.)
