deep sea fishing

go down to the fishing dock, down town by the rail road tracks before you get to the square. look for the terra cotta colored building on the right. you'll see the boats anchored in the bay. I have the best luck with the boat 'Perla'. cost around $150-$200 US per 5 hours for the boat.

No need to go thru resort tout, just go down and talk directly to the captain. go at noon so you can see the day's catch.

good luck

Thanks for the advice on deep sea fishing. We are planning a trip to Manzanillo in August...any recommendations for diving and accomodations? We're also interested in anything adventurous in the surrounding area. We're open to all advice...thanks!

For diving, you should talk to Susan at the Scuba Shack and she can organize dives for you. 4 of our family will be doing the dive certification in July with her company. You can reach her though her website at gomanzanillo.com.

As for accomodations, are you thinking of a hotel or a home/condo rental? For hotels the reviews here will give you a good idea of what the places are like. If you wish to rent a house/condo, there are several on vrbo.com to choose from and the rates will be good in August. Mine is #72900 in case you are interested.

If your looking for other areas around Manzanillo, 40 mins NW is a great little beach town called Barra de Navidad it

has great fishing, diving, mountain biking. Two friends and I spent over a month in that area we had great fishing on the Sea Hawk 42ft,went horse back riding up into the mountains and thru plantations, mountain bike riding to a couple of great beaches...Found this great tour company on the main drag in Barra called

seatosierra.com they also have a web site with lots of great links for that area to give you lots of ideas....Accomadations in the area vary depending on what your looking for...The beach is great , with surfing at one end..They also had diving charters but none of us are divers...

Hope you have as good atime as we did,
