And another article that just came to me...

The Acapulco Destination Marketing Office and the Secretary of Tourism for the State of Guerrero recently announced a partnership with StudentCity, a tour operator specializing in high school and college student travel. The partnership aims to return Spring Break to Acapulco, one of Mexico’s most popular beach destinations and host destination of MTV’s Ultimate Spring Break in 2010.

“While Acapulco has faced several challenges over the past two years, we believe that the new tourism initiatives put into action by the State of Guerrero, coupled with our partnership with StudentCity, will help us grow this market segment in 2013,” said Pedro Haces Sordo, President of the Acapulco Destination Marketing Office.

TravelJudy, here's hoping that this union bears fruit and the spring breakers return to Acapulco.

Bar none, Acapulco's nightclubs offer the best nightlife and space for large crowds. I suspect the first year will be low turn out but if all goes well, word of mouth can do wonders for the following. Of course if one kid goes home in a body bag....all bets are off. Kids today are a heck of a lot more reckless than in my day with a lot less respect. Hopefully they don't embarrass us Nortenos too much.

God help us. Not too sure which group is worse, the 'chilangos' or the spring breakers........... Just take their money and lock them up inside the discos until their flights depart :)
